beautiful things God provides when we least expect it.
Gifts
from Heaven
God will
supply our every need according to His plan for us.
There are more than 160 references
in the Bible to the ways God provides for us, reflecting how important these
gifts are not only to God but also to us.
As Philippians 4:19 puts it, God
will meet all our needs in line with the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes, these things will happen
outside of our normal routine when we least expect them, and it will shake
things up. Whether we view them things as positives or negatives, these things
happen for our betterment, even when we don’t know or understand His plan.
He doesn’t want anxiety for us. He
doesn’t want suffering for us. He doesn’t want worrying for us. He doesn’t want
harm for us. He wants new life for us.
Here are six things God will provide
when we least expect them.
Friendship
“A man of
many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than
a brother.” Proverbs
18:24
Friendship is important and friends
can become significant part of our lives, benefiting us by being great support
systems and improving our lives.
Sometimes,
God will bless us with the gift of friendship when we least expect it because
we are in need of additional support. We may not even know we’re in need of
this support until they show up.
Sometimes,
God will remove us from particular friendships, because those relationships
grow to be toxic and no longer good for our well-being.
A
Financial Breakthrough
“But
remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce
wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it
is today.” Deuteronomy
8:18
No matter
what your current financial situation is, God has a plan of victory and
prosperity for you. Sometimes, this occurs in the form of a breakthrough.
While most
of us in financial binds are waiting for our money miracle, financial
breakthrough does not always occur this way.
Sometimes,
this breakthrough requires us to be in insurmountable debt, losing our favorite
earthly possessions, before we can move forward and find financial peace.
While it
may be hard to see, this too is a financial victory. These losses represent our
ability to let go, and really let God work in our lives.
Loss/Gain
of a Job
“Whatever
you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the
Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord
Christ.” Colossians
3:23-24
Often, we
think of our jobs as an act of labor or simply a way to make ends meet but as
this verse from Colossians reminds us, we are serving the Lord, not just our
employers.
Our job and
career choices should reflect Christ and should not be solely focused on
financial reward. Sometimes we will lose or walk away from a job because of
God.
He knew
that we were living out of accordance with His will and He wanted more for us.
Sometimes a
job will open up to us because God knows that we can better serve and reflect
Christ in a new position as opposed to our last.
Children
“Behold,
children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like
arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the
man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks
with his enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:3-5
Children are a precious gift of the
Lord, a reward –and this reward will show up for families when they least
expect them.
These
beautiful miracles of God are created for more than our own selfish needs. They
are brought into the world to live a life according to God’s will.
Proverbs
22:6 tells us to train our children in the way they should go, and even when
they are old, we are not to depart from it.
Children
are not burdens but great blessings to us that when brought up in Christ can be
blessings to others.
New
Relationships
“Love is
patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It
does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not
rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things,
believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
The first part of this selection
from 1 Corinthians addresses how love is patient. That means that we should not
be impulsive when it comes to our relationships and trust in God’s timing.
Sometimes,
we end up out of relationships and into new ones because the person we were
dating previously was not who God had in mind for us.
