Jesus Christ
is coming again – would He be
your KING or your JUDGE? .
In His first coming,
Jesus Christ came to earth as a baby in a manger in Bethlehem, just as
prophesied. Jesus fulfilled many of the prophecies of the Messiah during His
birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection.
However, there are
some prophecies regarding the Messiah that Jesus has not yet fulfilled. He will
yet return to fulfill these remaining prophecies.
The second coming of
Jesus Christ is the hope of believers that God is in control of all things, and
is faithful to the promises and prophecies written in His Word – the Bible.
In His first coming,
Jesus was the suffering Servant. In His second coming, He will be the
conquering King.
In His first coming,
Jesus arrived in the most humble of circumstances. In His second coming, He
will appear with the angelic armies of heaven.
The Old Testament
prophets were not clear in there descriptions between the two comings – the Rapture and the Second
Coming.
This can be seen in
Isaiah 7:14; 9:6-7 and Zechariah 14:4.
What they failed to
understand is that there is only one Messiah and He would fulfill both roles.
Jesus fulfilled the
role of the suffering servant in His first coming (Isaiah chapter 53).
Jesus will fulfill the
role of Israel’s deliverer and King in His second coming.
Zechariah 12:10 and
Revelation 1:7 describe the Second Coming, look back to Jesus being pierced.
Israel, and the whole
world, will mourn for not having accepted the Messiah the first time He came.
After Jesus ascended into heaven, the angels declared to the
apostles, “Men of Galilee, why
do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken
from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into
heaven” (Acts 1:11).
Zechariah 14:4 identifies the location of the second coming as the Mount of
Olives.
Matthew
24:30 declares, “At
that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear
in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son
of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.”
The second coming is spoken of in greatest detail in Revelation 19:11-16,
“I saw heaven standing open and there
before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With
justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his
head are many crowns.
“He has a name written on him that no one
knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is
the Word of God.
“The armies of heaven were following him,
riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Out of his
mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. ‘He will rule
them with an iron scepter.’
“He treads the winepress of the fury of
the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name
written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”
The Second Coming,
when Jesus Christ returns to judge the world is certain. We therefore are
told to witness to those who do not know Christ as their Savior.
Jesus will return
again - either as one’s King or one’s Judge.
Their names would not
be found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life and they will be cast into the Lake
of Fire.
However, for those who
have received Him before He returns, then they will love His appearing.
Paul wrote about this in his last letter to Timothy.
Paul
is about to be executed and tells Timothy, “Now there
is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will award to me on that day–and not only to me, but also to all who
have longed for his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:8).
A crown of
righteousness is reserved for those who long for Jesus’ return.
But for those who are not believers, then it will be a most
dreadful day indeed (Revelation
20:12).
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31)
Are you struggling
with a big decision or wondering how your eternal future will play out?
Why not talk to the
God of the universe and let Him work in your behalf?
He says, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I
will counsel you with my eye upon you" (Psalm 32:8).
Ask God to show you
what to do. Pray the following prayer:
“Heavenly
Father,
I admit that I am a sinner
and my sins have separated me from You. I now want to turn away from my past
sinful life and begin a new life with You. I receive Your free gift of
salvation.
Please forgive me. I now
receive your Son, Jesus Christ as my Savior, my Master and my Lord. I believe
and confess that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the
dead.
I want to
receive all that Jesus Christ has provided for me as my Savior. Your Word says,
‘Whosoever shall call on the name of the
Lord shall be saved’ (Romans 10:13).
I believe and confess that
Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes unto the
Father, but by Him.
Lord Jesus, I pray and ask
You, to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. I thank You that you have
given me eternal life, and according to Your Word, I am born again and I am now
a child of God.
Heavenly Father, thank You
for the gift of the Holy Spirit Who is in me now to help me do Your will for
the rest of my life. I surrender my life to You. I promise to study Your Word –
the Bible.
Use me for Your glory.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”
.
If you have just put your trust in Jesus Christ,
you have been born into God’s family.
As a spiritual baby, you need to grow by feeding
on God’s Word – the Bible (1 Peter 2:2).
You must have a good modern translation Bible
and begin prayerfully reading it. Start in the New Testament, such as the
Gospel of John or Paul’s letters to the Ephesians.
As you read, ask two questions: “What are You, Lord?” “What do You want me to do?”
Also, you need to join a Christian fellowship
where the Bible is taught and where God is truly worshiped.
God bless you as you begin your new life with
Him!

lyrics
1.
Crown Him with many crowns,
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake, my soul and sing
Of Him Who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.
The Lamb upon His throne;
Hark! How the heav’nly anthem drowns
All music but its own!
Awake, my soul and sing
Of Him Who died for thee,
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.
2. Crown Him the Lord of love!
Behold His hands and side—
Rich wounds, yet visible above,
In beauty glorified.
No angel in the sky
Can fully bear that sight,
But downward bends His wond’ring eye
At mysteries so bright.
