- 'TIL A TEAR BECOMES A ROSE - Darling I can see the clouds around you And in your heart I know a sorrow grows. But if you weep i'll be right here to hold you Til each tear you cry becomes a rose Dearest love I know your heart is shattered And all my words can offer no relief But my love will heal the pain you've suffered And I 'll be here if you should turn to me

Lorrie Morgan and her son, Jesse Keith Whitley perform an amazing version of her duet originally performed with Jesse's father, Keith Whitley. This was part of the ACM Honors held in Nashville at the Ryman Auditorium on September 9, 2013. Keith Whitley was recognized with the Pioneer Award at the ceremony. Lorrie and Keith's children were on hand to accept. Brilliant night.

lyrics
(Keith)
Darling I can see the clouds around you,
And in your heart I know a sorrow grows,
But if you weep I'll be right there to hold you
Šµil each tear you cry becomes a rose.

(Lorrie)
Dearest love, I know your heart is
shattered,
And all my words can offer no release,
But my love will heal the pain you suffered,
And I'll be here if you should turn to me.

(Both)
Darling I can see the clouds around you,
And in your heart I know a sorrow grows,
But if you weep I'll be right there to hold you
Til each tear you cry becomes a rose.

(Keith)
In deepest nights when memories stand
together,
Lay with me and put your fears to sleep,
Cause there's no pain; no dream can put us under,
All the love that binds you to me.

(Both)
Darling I can see the clouds around you,

And in your heart I know a sorrow grows,
But if you weep I'll be right there to hold you
Til each tear you cry becomes a rose.

Lay with me and put your fears to sleep

Cause there's no pain no dream can put as under
All the love that binds you and me

Darling I can see the clouds around you
And in your heart I know a sorrow grows
But if you weep i'll be right here to hold you

"'Til a Tear Becomes a Rose" is a single by American country music artist Leon Everette. It was released in 1985 from his Mercury Records album Where's the Fire. His version of the song peaked at number 44 on Hot Country Songs.
The song was later covered by Keith Whitley as a duet with then-wife Lorrie Morgan. Posthumously released in July 1990, it was the only single from his Greatest Hits album. This version peaked at number 13 on the country singles charts and won the Vocal Event of the Year at the Country Music Association awards.
Another version was released in 1990 by Jann Browne on her album Tell Me Why.
In 2015, a version of the song was released by singer Kevin Moon and Bluegrass artist Rhonda Vincent for Moon's Throwback CD.

"'Til a Tear Becomes a Rose." After tying the knot in November of 1986, Keith Whitley and Lorrie Morgan were often asked when they would record a duet. Sadly, fate stepped in when Whitley died from alcohol poisoning in May of 1989. However, the couple did lay tracks for a few songs together. The first, this heartfelt love ballad, was the single from his 1990 Greatest Hits album, and became a CMA Award-winning performance. Listeners flocked toward the song as they mourned over Whitley's untimely passing — and the fact that the next great traditional-based husband-wife duo was through, just as they were beginning. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/keith-whitleys-10-greatest-love-songs-20150701/til-a-tear-becomes-a-rose-20150701
