JOEL OSTEEN - I like the Pope. I like that he’s making the Catholic Church more open to bring people in and not exclude them. He’s a man of the people. I like what he stands for — humility, reaching out to others and he’s not so formal that people can’t relate to him.

Joel Osteen Says Pope Francis Is a ‘Man of the People,’ Stands for Humility
.
Despite the Pope’s ridiculous statement that Jesus failed at the cross, Author and Lakewood megachurch Pastor Joel Osteen expressed excitement over Pope Francis’ visit to the United States and believes the pontiff is a “man of the people” who is focused on inclusion.
Speaking with The Christian Post this week he shared his thoughts on the pontiff. “I like the Pope. I like that he’s making the Catholic Church more open to bring people in and not exclude them. He’s a man of the people. I like what he stands for — humility, reaching out to others and he’s not so formal that people can’t relate to him,” said Osteen.
The Pope has shocked many people with the statements he made in New York.
“I would like to express two sentiments for my Muslim brothers and sisters: Firstly, my greetings as they celebrate the feast of sacrifice. I would have wished my greeting to be warmer. My sentiments of closeness, my sentiments of closeness in the face of tragedy. The tragedy that they suffered in Mecca.”
“The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds. God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and not produce fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus Christ and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”
Read here how that statement unites the Pope with Islam .
