This Jesus is our Jesus. This Jesus is your Jesus. He knows you – every detail and every secret you wish you could hide.

Is this Jesus your Jesus?

Jesus was travelling from Judea to Galilee.

John 4 - 1Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
2 (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples),                                          he left Judea and departed again for Galilee.      And he had to pass through Samaria.                  So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.                                                      Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour.                                         English Standard Version (ESV
Jesus was walking into hostile territory, through the Samaritans.
Though the Samaritans worshipped God, they also served other gods in accordance with the customs of other nations, "just in case."

Consequently, the Jews refused to let the Samaritans worship in their Temple in Jerusalem. Animosity grew between the two peoples, and by the time of Jesus, tensions were at a boiling point.

At noontime, Jesus came upon Jacob's Well, where he encountered a young Samaritan woman.
Jesus told her to go get her husband. "I have no husband," she said.
Jesus knew she had had five husbands, and she was not married to the guy she was currently living with. (Imagine the chill that went up that woman's spine. "How in the world does He know that?")

The whole situation is crazy because Jews did not talk to Samaritans, and a Jewish man was not in his right mind talking to a woman in public in broad daylight.
But still, Jesus did.
Why did Jesus speak to her? Because He had a heart for her.

When Jesus asked her for some water, she expressed her astonishment that He, a Jewish man, would ask a Samaritan woman for such a thing.
“The Samaritan woman said to him, ‘How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?’ (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)” - John 4:9
Jesus replied: "…If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to    you, 'Give Me a drink, you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." John 4:10
While this story itself has many layers of meaning embedded in it, the point here is that Jesus did not risk going into Samaria for an object lesson, but simply because He loved people.
He knew this woman as she was, both in her past rejection and present brokenness. He had plans for her healing, restoration and a bright future.
This Jesus is our Jesus.
This Jesus is your Jesus. He knows you – every detail and every secret you wish you could hide.
And yet, He zealously seeks you.
He ardently calls you.
He lovingly reaches for you – because He loves you.
He looks past what you were before, no matter what you have done, despite the issues on you, no matter what your circumstances are right now.
He seeks you, and finds you … just as you are

He longs for your response: Lord Jesus, I thank You for having a heart for people and desiring to be my friend. Please be my living water.
Would you want God to change your life?
God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life through a relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ, and have eternal life.
Say the following prayer:

“Father God, I confess I am a sinner and my sins have separated me from you.

I am truly sorry. I now want to turn away from my past sinful life and live a new life pleasing to you.

Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.

I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer.

I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Thank you that according to your Word, I am now born again.

Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life.

In Jesus' name I pray, amen.”

“Fill My Cup, Lord”                 Richard Blanchard

lyrics

1
Like the woman at the well, I was seeking
For things that could not satisfy.
And then I heard my Savior speaking—
“Draw from My well that never shall run dry.”

Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.
2
There are millions in this world who are seeking
For pleasures earthly goods afford.
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
3
So my brother if the things that this world gives you
Leave hungers that won’t pass away,
My blessed Lord will come and save you
If you kneel to Him and humbly pray—
