Would wars and rumors of wars lead to the end of the world?
puricarefiles
Are wars and rumors
of wars – intense warfare - related to the end times?
Would the Lord Jesus
come and intervene, before humankind destroys earth?
Signs of the End of the Age
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came
to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be
the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Matthew 24:3 English
Standard Version (ESV)
People immediately
associate any conflict in Israel and the Middle East as a sign of
the end times.
Because of Jesus’ own
words in this passage, much concern is taken that the end might be near.
But if only the rest
of the passage is taken into the picture “... See that you are not alarmed, for this
must take place, but the end is not yet.… ” Matthew 24:6
Jesus’ statement
about “wars and rumors
of wars” to mean that intense and
widespread warfare is a sign of the end times is the exact opposite of what He
really meant.
Jesus was telling us
in advance that we should not allow wars or rumors of wars to frighten us, because “the end is not yet.”
Similarly, Jesus
spoke of
- famines and earthquakes (Matthew 24:7),
- persecution (Matthew 24:9),
- apostasy (Matthew 24:10), and
- false prophets (Matthew 24:11), warning
that
- “all these are the beginning of the birth
pains” (Matthew 24:8).
The things Jesus
pointed to as not necessarily being signs of the end times are precisely the
things most people look at as sure signs of the end times and of His coming.
Jesus is stating that
there had always been wars, and there will always be wars until He establishes
His Kingdom in the Millenium.
No conflict at present is a reliable sign that
the end will come.
No matter what “wars and rumors of wars” are going on around us, the mission
of the Church of Jesus Christ still is the same – to save that which was lost.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed
throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
Jesus says it clearly
– this is the ultimate
sign of the end times, before His Second Coming.
Are you struggling with a big decision or wondering how your
eternal future will play out?
Why not talk to the God of the universe and let Him work in
your behalf?
He says, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I
will counsel you with my eye upon you" (Psalm 32:8).
Ask God to show you what to do. Pray the following prayer:.
"Heavenly
Father,
I
admit that I am a sinner and my sins have separated me from You. I now want to
turn away from my past sinful life and begin a new life with You.
Please
forgive me. I now receive your Son, Jesus Christ as my Savior, my Master and my
Lord. I believe and confess that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and
rose from the dead.
I
want to receive all that Jesus Christ has provided for me as my Savior. Your
Word says, ‘Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved’
(Romans 10:13).
I
believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and
no man comes unto the Father, but by Him.
Lord
Jesus, I pray and ask You, to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. I
thank You that you have given me eternal life, and according to Your Word, I am
born again.
Heavenly
Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit that is in me now. I
surrender my life to You. I promise to
study Your Word – the Bible.
Use
me for Your glory.
In
Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

“You are crowned
with many crowns”
lyrics
You
are crowned with many crowns
and rule all things in righteousness.
You are crowned with many crowns,
upholding all things by your Word.
You rule in power and reign in glory!
You are Lord of heaven and earth!
You are Lord of all.
You are Lord of all.
