Channeling
Does something happen when channeling is practiced?
The answer to this question is yes. But there is
also much fraud in the psychic business.
Anyone studying human behavior can say the right
things at the right moment, causing a client to think the one speaking has
psychic abilities.
A medium will read a message from the tarot cards. They have you handle the cards to get your “vibrations” on them before
shuffling and laying them out.
The cards tell one’s fortune according to the
sequence in which the cards were overturned.
An Ouija board can spell out a short answer to
questions.
There are séances where the medium is placed into a
trance. Questions and answers are received through the medium to and from the
spirit world.
Is channeling real when the alleged spirit of a
dearly departed uncle is talking through a medium?
The answer to this question is “NO.”
Some spirit may have spoken, but it was not the
spirit of the departed ones. It is a familiar spirit that was assigned to know
everything about the deceased.
The imposter spirit tells the living about their deceased loved ones on the other side, but it is not the deceased person trying
to get a message out to the living.
“You belong to your father, the
devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from
the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he
lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44).
We are not to believe these spirits, because the
message is mixed with bits of twisted truths and mostly lies that will lead us
to destruction.
It is none other than the arch
enemy of our soul, the devil. “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy
the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour”
(1 Peter 5:8).
The Devil comes in many disguises.
He used to be an angel of light until he sinned against God. “How
you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been
cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” (Isaiah 14:12).
He persuades many people to not
follow after the teachings of God. “The
Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow
deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1 Timothy 4:1).
We are told to test the spirits to see if they will
acknowledge that Jesus is the Only Begotten Son of God, and salvation comes
from Him alone.
“Dear friends, do not believe
every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because
many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize
the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in
the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not
from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming
and even now is already in the world” (1 John 4:1-3).
None of the spirits that come through any channeler
will acknowledge the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
They draw people to themselves, for man’s
glorification.
They tell people how to get to heaven by their own
merits.
Something does happen in channeling, but the
message and the messenger do not come from God.
In this spiritual war, there are no fence-sitters –
you are either with the Lords’ victorious army or with the wicked “Powers” of
Satan.
Be sure you are listed with the victorious army of
the Lord. Settle that sin issue right
now by saying this prayer:
“Father God, I confess I am a
sinner and my sins have separated me from You.
I am truly sorry. I now want
to turn away from my past sinful life and live a new life pleasing to You.
Please forgive me, and help
me avoid sinning again.
I believe that Your Son,
Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and
hears my prayer.
I invite Jesus to become the
Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.
Please send Your Holy Spirit
to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. Thank you,
Lord, that according to Your Word, I am born again. I promise to obey You and
study your Word – the Bible.
Use me for Your glory.
In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.”
