lyrics
lyrics
I only live to love you
Day after day
Year after year
For always we will journey together.
Walk with my dreams beside you
Smile after smile
Tear after tear
In shadow and in sunshine
My love will guide you.
If I have you to love
What do I care, when you are there
For when you came my way
There was no yesterday
Only tomorrow with you.
Here are my arms that need you
I only live, live for your love
For my love will be your love now and forever.
The song "I Only Live To Love You"
originated in Italy as "Cosi Si Fa Stasera" composed by Gene
Colonello and recorded by the popular Italian singer Tony Dallara. In the UK,
English lyrics were added by Norman Newell and under the new title "I Only
Live To Love You" it was recorded by several artists including Cilla Black
who went on to have a top 30 hit with it in November 1967. It was also recorded
by Cliff Richard for the European market, and his version has since become
quite an obscure recording.
