“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27)

The Bible teaches in Hebrews 9:27 that after death comes THE JUDGMENT.

This goes contrary to what most people think. I hear so many people, especially Catholics, say that everyone is a child of God. That is not what the Word of God teaches.

Only a born-again believer is a child of God. That’s what the Bible says in Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

If a person does not faith in the Son of God, then he is NOT a child of God.

Many people have misconceptions about what happens after they die. The Bible answers the question for us ... THE JUDGMENT.

For the saved, the born-again believer, it will be The Judgment Seat of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10-11).

For the unsaved, the unbeliever, the self-righteous, it will be The Great White Throne of Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).

This is what God said. Every human being has an APPOINTMENT with death.

God knows the exact day, hour, time, minute, and second that you will breath your last breath.

God knows when our heart will beat for the last time. God knows exactly when our time is through. Nothing ever comes as a surprise to God.

And God said that when our appointment with death comes, the next thing on His agenda will be THE JUDGMENT.

Every unsaved person who dies in his sins will go straight to hellfire.

Every born-again Christian will be escorted by angels to Heaven's pearly gates.

This is the teaching found in Luke 16:19-31, concerning the rich man and Lazarus.

I don't understand exactly what will happen once we die, for the Bible does not give us specific details; but I do know that the Bible says we will stand trial at THE JUDGMENT.

I do know that the rich man woke up in Hell fire and torment.

I do know that Lazarus was escorted by angels to Heaven.

I do know that it is a terrifying thing to stand trial before God (2 Corinthians 5:11.

Hebrews 10:31 says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

Yet, so many people live wicked lives of rebellion against God, making no effort whatsoever to please God, even rejecting God's Only-Begotten Son as the Christ and Savior of the world.

Many people will accuse God of being unfair on Judgment Day, as did the religious people in Matthew 7:21-23. But they had failed to

obey the Gospel.

Religious devotion could not save them on Judgment Day.

“Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?” (Job 4:17)

It is tragic that so many people live their lives as if there is no God.

I certainly do not condemn anyone. But the Bible condemns all humanity as being guilty, rotten, hell-deserving, sinners (Romans 3:10-23).

“Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” (Proverb 27:1)

We hear much talk about Heaven's pearly gates, Saint Peter meeting us at the gate, and streets of gold; but very few people mention THE JUDGMENT.

Hebrews 9:27 says, “… after this the judgment.”

Are you ready to meet your Maker?

“Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.” (Amos 4:12)

The God of Israel is the true and living God.

Sadly, most Jews today reject Jesus Christ as their Messiah, and in so doing reject the very God of Israel.

Go figure 1 John 2:23, “Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.”

Muslims and Judaizers reject the Jesus Christ the Son of God, and so they have also rejected God the Father.

It is important that all of us keep in mind what is coming after we die ... THE JUDGMENT!

Are you struggling with a big decision or wondering how your eternal future will play out?

Why not talk to the God of the universe and let Him work in your behalf?

He says, “I will instruct you and teach you the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you" (Psalm 32:8).

Ask God to show you what to do. Pray the following prayer:

“Heavenly Father,

I admit that I am a sinner and my sins have separated me from You. I now want to turn away from my past sinful life and begin a new life with You. I receive Your free gift of salvation.

Please forgive me. I now receive your Son, Jesus Christ as my Savior, my Master and my Lord. I believe and confess that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and rose from the dead.

I want to receive all that Jesus Christ has provided for me as my Savior. Your Word says, ‘Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Romans 10:13).

I believe and confess that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man comes unto the Father, but by Him.

Lord Jesus, I pray and ask You, to come into my heart and be Lord of my life. I thank You that you have given me eternal life, and according to Your Word, I am born again and I am now a child of God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit Who is in me now to help me do Your will for the rest of my life. I surrender my life to You. I promise to study Your Word – the Bible.

Use me for Your glory.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

If you have just put your trust in Jesus Christ, you have been born into God’s family.

As a spiritual baby, you need to grow by feeding on God’s Word – the Bible (1 Peter 2:2).

You must have a good modern translation Bible and begin prayerfully reading it. Start in the New Testament, such as the Gospel of John or Paul’s letters to the Ephesians.

As you read, ask two questions: “What are You, Lord?” “What do You want me to do?”

Also, you need to join a Christian fellowship where the Bible is taught and where God is truly worshiped.
